Introduction
Information Technology is integral to our lives and is one of the most rapidly growing industry worldwide. This programme develops you with the professional skills across a wide spectrum in the IT industry. By incorporating the state-of-the-art development tools and frameworks widely used in Hong Kong IT industry into the curriculum, graduates are able to have immediate contribution to the IT industry upon their graduation.

This programme helps you to develop vital professional skills across a wide spectrum in the IT industry, including web applications, mobile apps, big data, and artificial intelligence. In addition to the regular curriculum, short courses on latest technological advancement such as Django, Flutter, React, openAI, noSQL database and other advanced development platforms will be provided. Through this programme, you will master the skills in employing the state-of-the-art development tools and frameworks, as well as building the solid theoretical and practical knowledge that enables you to be an outstanding practitioner in the rapidly evolving IT industry.

- Information Technology Project

With the support of individual project supervisor, you will select a topic of interest to you and conduct a project. You are expected to critically synthesise information and solve problems. You will learn to write and present your research, conclusions and results professionally, as well as manage your time effectively to deliver a suitably ambitious project.
- Ethical and Professional Issues in Computing and Digital Media (CEF Module)

You will learn to recognise the dilemmas inherent in professional practice, form balanced judgements on them, and recommend actions in conformance with good practice and within the appropriate legal requirements. - Advanced Web Development

This module aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of advanced web development concepts, tools, and technologies, enabling them to create sophisticated web applications for various devices and platforms.
Through this module, students will learn the skills in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex, responsive, and scalable web applications using the state-of-the-art technologies, development tools and frameworks. - Security Management in Practice (CEF Module)

Through this module, you will learn the specification standards of an Information Security Management System (ISMS). After analysing the range of real world security issues that face commercial organisations, and evaluating the security laws and regulations, you will learn to propose an ISMS for a real organisation using recognised methods at and internationally recognised standard. You will also be able to reflect on the process of specifying an ISMS, justify methods used and propose alternatives. - Essentials and Applications of Artificial Intelligence

This module aims to provide an in-depth understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) fundamentals, including its history, techniques, and modern applications.
Throughout the course, students will gain hands-on experience in implementing AI solutions using popular programming languages and frameworks. By delving into various aspects of AI, such as problem-solving, search algorithms, knowledge representation, machine learning and natural language processing, students will acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to contribute effectively to this rapidly evolving domain. - Mobile Application Development

This module is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to design, develop, and publish mobile applications for Android, iOS, and cross-platform environments.
Students will learn about the mobile application landscape, key development tools and technologies, and the architectural components of mobile applications. Students will gain exposure to cross-platform mobile application development using popular frameworks widely adopted by the IT industry such as React Native and Flutter. Through this module, students will be able to master the techniques in mobile application UI design to make their work truly attractive and user-friendly, being an integrated component to a corporate-wide solution. - Big Data Analytics

This module provides students insight into concepts, theories and developments associated with data analytics and big data. Throughout the module, students will explore various aspects of big data analytics, including data pre-processing, transformation, statistical and machine learning techniques, tools and frameworks, applications, case studies, and ethical and legal considerations. Through this module, students will be able to develop visualization models to provide insights on different aspects of an organization, as well as building analytic and predictive solutions.
- Interaction Design

Taking a human-centred perspective, this module focuses on the process of designing interactive digital products, applications and services that help enhance and re-scope the way that people use digital technologies and information. Students will explore designing the dialogue between people and technology within different contexts, with a view to finding creative and engaging ways to realise interactive experiences.

Assessment in all modules are 100% based on coursework, group presentation, and research project. There are no written examinations.

Further Studies
Having been recognised at QF Level 5, this top-up degree programme meets the standard of locally-accredited bachelor's degree programmes. Upon graduation, students can pursue their further studies at Master’s degree level in Hong Kong or Overseas.
