BSc (Honours) Sport Coaching
Introduction
Preparing for a career as a professional sports coach? This programme prepares you to work in a performance or participation role, in schools, governing bodies of sport, professional sports clubs, or commercial sport and activity settings. Enterprise in Sport Coaching

This module aims to provide you with an innovative learning environment where you will be able to develop business planning skills within a sports coaching context. You will explore key criteria for successful team-working and leadership in addition to key business management principles and practice. The module will help you to consider and develop your business and enterprise capabilities through the establishment of a small business.

Coaching Children and Young People
-
This module considers how young people develop physically, mentally and emotionally, and how they learn and develop skills. It provides specific examples to demonstrate how coaches can adapt training, practice and programmes to meet the needs of the young person / performer whilst also beginning to consider the process of identifying and developing elite performers from a young age.

Talent Development

The aim of this module is to advance your knowledge of talent development and expertise acquisition in the sport domain. The module will focus on contemporary models of talent development and the methods used to develop sporting expertise, through exploring and critiquing current talent development systems, where barriers and challenges will be identified. The module will also provide you with insights into coaching approaches and methods used by coaches to develop expert performers.

International Sport Coaching

This module will encourage the utilisation of comparative techniques to critically scrutinise sport coaching systems within your domestic and other countries. Considering how cultural, social, historical and political factors impact sport coaching policy and influenced the delivery and development of sport coaching internationally. The module will examine and critique sport coaching as an intervention tool within sports coaching systems, assessing the impact of the coaching system on practising coaches.

Project in Sport

This module aims to develop your knowledge and skills of designing, implementing and evaluating a research project in a subject area related to sport and physical activity. Building on existing knowledge and employability skills developed on your programme, the module will support the development of a research question, which will include carrying out a research project under ethically safe conditions.

Entry Requirements
- Holders of VTC Higher Diploma in Sports Coaching
OR
- Holders of relevant Higher Diploma, or Associate Degree, or equivalent qualifications, or experience (in terms of relevant credits and competency) will also be considered. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
English Proficiency Requirements
- Applicants holding post-secondary qualifications (e.g. Higher Diploma, Associate Degree) taught and assessed in English from recognised institutions;
OR
- At least an overall IELTS score of 6.0, or equivalent.
Fees
- Application Fee : HK$200 (No application fee before the deadline!)
- Registration Fee : HK$3,500
- Tuition Fee : HK$74,840 by 2 instalments

Having been recognised at QF Level 5, this top-up degree programme meets the standard of locally-accredited bachelor's degree programmes. Upon graduation, students can pursue their further studies at Master’s degree level in Hong Kong or overseas.
