BA (Hons) Jewellery, Materials and Design graduate won the 22nd HK Eyewear Design Competition

Yip Tsz Yan, a graduate from BA (Hons) Jewellery, Materials and Design, Sheffield Hallam University, won the 22nd HK Eyewear Design Competition organised by the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC).

The winning entry  – “Parallel Universe” is an eyewear made up of parallel lines and geometric lines. When the asymmetrical arms move towards the centre of the frame, though appear to be overlapped at the side view, there is no intersection when viewing at any other angles. The arms brush past each other when retracting, implying the infinite possibilities in parallel time and space.

Apart from winning this Competition, Yip also won the 38th and 39th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition, as well as the Government Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship (SPSS) – Talent Development Scholarship.
