SHAPE IT Graduate and HKIIT Showcase VR in the "Bun Scrambling" Activity
Graduates from the BSc (Hons) Information Technology (SHAPE x UWE Bristol) collaborated with students and faculty from the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) to present their project, the "Virtual Reality (VR) Bun Scrambling" game, at the "Cultural Heritage in the Community" event held at the Cheung Chau Cultural Centre on September 14.
Utilizing VR technology, they transformed the traditional cultural activity of Bun Scrambling in Cheung Chau into an immersive virtual game. Participants can engage in the competition without the constraints of time and location, fully immersing themselves in the experience. The game primarily uses hand-tracking technology, allowing players to score points by grabbing lucky buns and placing them in a basket, all while requiring minimal leg movement, making it accessible for older participants.
